Welcome Back Letter from the Principal

August 1, 2017
Dear Neal Math and Science Academy students and families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! We are excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways. Our goal this year is to educate the whole child and provide students with a rigorous curriculum that will prepare them for high school and beyond.  As we define our status as a math and science academy our students will receive a well-rounded education that will introduce them to career options and higher level thinking.  This year we’re excited to announce that ALL students will have a fine arts elective (art and/or music) and STEM elective (technology/engineering).  Students will also have a new class, Core+More, that will promote team work as well as provide interventions and/or enrichment in reading and math.  We are very excited with our new schedule and are confident that it will provide every student at NMSA the opportunity to excel!

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 16th.  Our school day begins at 8:30 am and doors will open at 8:15 am.  It is crucial that students arrive on time and ready to learn.  This year we will be providing every student breakfast in the classroom.  This will allow the time students need to fuel their brain and get ready for a day of learning.  Please be mindful that there will be no supervision before 8:15 am; therefore students should not arrive before 8:15 am.  Our day will end at 2:45 pm on Wednesday, August 16th.  Our attendance for students regularly consist as follows Mon, Tue, Thurs and Fri 8:30am – 3:30pm and Wed 8:30am – 2:45pm.

If you still need to register or know someone who needs to register, please visit our office and our secretaries will be able to assist you.  It is our goal to have all of our students registered and in class August 16th.

This is going to be a great school year.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child throughout the year.  If you have any questions, please come in and talk to me.

Mrs. Vanessa E Campos
