Registered Students can stay after school and receive a cold dinner, homework support and then participate in a variety of enrichment programs.

Meet our Administration

Victorene King – Principal

Victorene King is the Principal for Neal Math and Science Academy. She received her Bachelors in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno and her Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University in Chicago.

Image.VickiFamilyMrs. King has experience as a middle and high school administrator as well as teacher.  She taught 6th-8th grade in Nevada and Illinois for 7 years before becoming an assistant principal. Her goal for NMSA is to help ensure students are provided dynamic experiences to demonstrate personal, social, emotional, and academic success!

Mrs. King’s hobbies include spending time with her husband, son, and animals, and running marathons and competing in triathlons.

Scott Whipple – Assistant Principal

Scott is the Assistant Principal at Neal Math and Science Academy.  He started his journey at Neal in 2004, as a science teacher.  He taught science for five years and then ventured into administration in 2009, as the dean of students.  He is now in his fourth year as the assistant principal.Image.Whipple

He received his Bachelors of Science Degree with a double major in Biology (Teaching) and Health education in 2004, from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  In 2009, Scott earned his Master’s in Educational Leadership through Concordia University of Chicago.

His goal for Neal is to continue to provide the best supports for students, parents, teachers, and to create learning environments in such a way students are ready for tomorrow.  He believes that students leaving Neal will be ready for the high school and beyond.

Kat Wainscott – 6th Grade Dean

Image.KatKat is the 6th grade Dean of Students at NMSA.  She earned her Bachelors of Physical Education at Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago and a Masters of Leadership and Administration from Benedictine University, Lisle IL. Prior to education, she served in the US Army for 8 years and was a Police Officer for 3 years.  Kat has been teaching for 3 years and is excited to move over from NCCHS into her first year as Dean at NMSA.  Kat’s goal is to provide the structure students need to be successful and never let a student leave her office without being encouraged.
